Abstract: Box-tree (Buxus sempervirens L.) relic of the Eemian age or recently introduced plant in Lorraine? When we examine the different scientific subjects (hydrogeology, climatology, palynology and toponymy) the answer is clear: box-tree cannot be an Eemian relic as it has been written in PARENT (1976) Indeed, it is evident that box-tree was unable to survive during the last Ice age, what confirm very recent palynological analysis.
