Appalachian Synthesis and Inventory

We are creating an inventory of regional electronic biological information and data. We are identifying, assessing, storing, and providing access to the regional biological knowledge base through a single user-friendly interface. This knowledge base is integrated by data sets, bibliographic information related to the region and its biology, identification guides, tools for analysis and synthesis, tools for decision-aiding, educational and visualization tools and models, as well as metadata records and informational sites.

Also, we are developing projects and partnerships that are resulting in the acquisition of legacy data sets pertaining to the biotic and abiotic ecosystems of region.

Our ultimate goal is to provide access to all the regional biological information data, systems and databases and provide a single, easy-to-use gateway to information resources.
